We have an active practice in take-overs, mergers and acquisitions and advise regularly on the obligations imposed by the Companies Act, the Listing Rules of the Colombo Stock Exchange and the Take-overs and Mergers Code. Apart from take-over laws and regulations, we also advise public companies on schemes of arrangement and reconstruction. Our lawyers are familiar with the effectiveness of the various routes that can be taken to accomplish the commercial objectives of our clients. Our clients operate in a wide range of industries, including banking, property and trade. We work closely with our Property & Construction team where transactions feature property-related issues.
We also advise corporations and private individuals on investment structures, such as buy-outs, various modes of securities offerings as well as investments and divestments of both assets and securities. Where a public offering is involved, members of our Capital Markets team are brought into the transaction.
