Amila counts over 28 years of experience with the Firm. Her concentration lies in the areas of Capital Markets, Corporate & Commercial Law, Corporate Administration & Company Secretarial Services (Jacey & Company). In the field of Capital Markets, assignments handled by Amila include advising on initial public offerings and listings of companies on the Colombo Stock Exchange and advising on relevant legal, regulatory and compliance issues arising in respect of a range of financial products and structures. Whilst she heads the Corporate Administration / Company Secretarial Group she also heads the Corporate & Commercial Law Group and has wide experience in all aspects of commercial contract negotiations and drafting and the setting up of corporate entities in Sri Lanka including the establishment of Overseas companies. She has acted as Team Leader in a number of due diligence assignments for local and international clients, and acted as local counsel for the first global depository receipts issued by a Sri Lankan company, and as counsel for the first securitisation of lease receivables in Sri Lanka in association with the International Finance Corporation. She has also been involved in the restructuring of several large multinationals, and has handled a number of Bond Issues for the Issuer and the Underwriters. Her client base includes local and international conglomerates, banking and other financial institutions as well as government institutions.
