As head of the Banking and Finance Group, Janaki has extensive experience in aspects of banking and finance law such as acquisitions and leveraged finance, banking regulation, documentation, financial regulation, financial services, financial structuring, leasing and asset finance, loans finance, property financing, syndicated loans and trade financing. She has acted for major domestic and international institutions in relation to banking, securities, derivatives and funds. Assignments undertaken by Janaki include acting in bank lending transactions, acting as foreign counsel to international lenders on syndicate loans granted to the Government of Sri Lanka and other banks and local companies and advising on the commencement and closure of banks and loan restructurings and re-financing. Janaki also focuses on the area of aircraft finance and has acted as counsel for several foreign lessors of aircraft to Sri Lanka operators.
