Lahiru is a member of the Firm’s Trust and Employment Law Division.
He regularly assists both foreign and local clients on matters related to employment which includes, corporate due diligence, drafting and reviewing contracts of employment/separation agreements and advising clients on the payment of superannuation benefits, the cessation of employment and occupational health and safety of employees etc. as per the local labour laws, with a view to mitigate the risk of litigation.
Lahiru has experience in the areas of trusts, last wills and testaments and powers of attorney which includes advising clients on their creation and the drafting of relevant documentation in relation thereto. As a member of the legal team involved with the Firm’s trustee arm, Jacey Trust Services (Private) (“the Company”) Limited, he has experience in administering both private and charitable trusts and ensuring regulatory compliance under Sri Lankan law. Where the Company exercises discretionary powers qua trustee, he works closely with, and attends to the needs of individual beneficiaries to safeguard their interests under trusts.
An individual in the pursuit of knowledge, outside of work, Lahiru cultivates a deep interest in literature, cinema, culture history and art.
